ZONO vs. Fogging Disinfection Systems

Selecting the Best Option

for Your Environment

If you are looking for a disinfection and sanitation solution for your classroom, daycare center, or church nursery, you may come across several different technologies in your research. We would like to take this opportunity to provide you with more information about the ZONO and how it compares to other types of disinfection systems on the market today, such as a fogging disinfection system. If you have additional questions, please reach out to our team at any time.

It is important to first understand the central difference between the two types of disinfection systems: The ZONO is a cabinet system designed to eliminate cross-contamination and achieve consistent disinfection+ and sanitization* levels. A fogging disinfection system provides whole-room disinfection through a dry fogging method. We will be highlighting some of the key differences between the systems to help inform your decision.

The ZONO uses ozone to provide disinfection+ and sanitation*.

The ZONO system uses ozone, one of nature’s most powerful oxidizers that has been used as an organic disinfectant+ and sanitizer* since the early 1900s.

Fogging disinfection systems, as noted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), use a fan and a liquid solution to create a fog consisting of aerosol with small droplets. Because these types of systems suspend chemicals in the air, those chemicals may remain in poorly ventilated areas for some time, causing irritation to the skin, eyes, or airways of anyone who breathes in the chemicals. For this reason, the CDC does not recommend the use of foggers or misters for disinfection of community spaces against COVID-19. Another downside to fogging disinfection systems is that they cannot be used in spaces that are occupied by anyone other than the person doing the fogging.

Unlike a fogger, the ZONO can be used in occupied spaces throughout the day—multiple times per day. Our system safely disinfects and sanitizes items using ozone within the ZONO cabinet while teachers and caregivers are handling their other responsibilities. Our sole focus is to provide thorough and complete disinfection+ and sanitation* of highly used and shared items in your classroom, daycare center, or church nursery.

The ZONO delivers complex technology in an easy-to-use package.

Unlike fogging disinfection systems, which require the user to dose the disinfectant, the ZONO Cabinet simply needs to be loaded and started with the press of a button. After 30 minutes, the items will be disinfected+, sanitized*, and ready for immediate use.
